Welcome to the first-ever Kappa Leadership Conference! With a new organizational structure comes the opportunity to provide our members with an event that combines enhanced training and leadership development at the district level.
The focus will be on Kappa’s core educational values — our Pillars of Education. Throughout the conference, we will explore the concepts of sisterhood, leadership, intellectual development, well-being, community responsibility, human dignity and heritage. Human Dignity: Creating a Culture of Inclusion
What does it mean to “actively exclude?” What exactly is cultural appropriation and how can we stop it if we don’t even know how to identify it? Why is diversity such a hot topic on my campus? Discover answers to these questions and more. Explore your identity regarding groups of privilege and oppression and how these relationships shape our attitudes, behaviors, worldviews and experiences. Learn how to assess common chapter and campus activities to look for cultural appropriation and how to make changes to provide better inclusion opportunities for others.
