Around 13 years of age and about to be 14 was the day I realized I had to do something different about my health. I was weighing in around 225 pounds, and the only exercise I got was walking to the pantry to get more food. I thought a good meal meant nachos and cheese on a paper plate. Junk food of all kinds was the only food I could tolerate. I decided to take my success to a whole new level. For me, that was competing in men’s physique. Having signed up for the 2018 New Orleans competition; I realized I just made a commitment. Lifting weights became a serious sport for me. This competition was a huge goal that I desired, and nothing would stand in my way from being the best I could be. Competing in men’s physique to other people is just a competition, but to me it’s a lot more. Competition was more than that to me. I saw it as an art that had to be critiqued each every day.
