As I reflect on the third class meeting, it began on a beautiful Saturday morning. Dr. Wentland started class by meeting with the individuals, who were supposed to present their chapters. However, they did not present, because the instructor discovered that the textbook did not support the course description. So, he amended the syllabus, schedule, and requirements to reflect the following: 1) Initial draft of research paper, 2) Final Draft of the research paper, 3) Research paper presentation, 4) Weekly article on current issues in P12 or Higher Education, 5) Weekly reflection paper, 6) Final Exam, and 7) Extra Credit (25 points). The new schedule includes an additional Hybrid Research Day, and extended the time for the research presentations

Weekly Self S.O.A.P - A. S- Discuss your SUBJECTIVE feelings for this week: I rather enjoyed myself this week. It was nice to take a break from med surg and shadow a team leader for a few hours. I observed how the ICU team leader, Kalang handled the stress of understaff nursing and seeing how she organized the day’s schedule. I observed the meeting in the morning with all management from the units to see how they were handling staffing issues and what they could do to help when one unit has difficulties.…

Collaboration is the process of working together with others to improve a piece of writing. It is a process in which others revise one’s original work and give the author advise on how to edit their piece of writing. Different perspectives are shared and taken into consideration, thus allowing the author to get a fresh pair of eyes on their writing other than their own. It is a very important step when completing a paper because it helps us be able to see the improvements needed to be made that we might not have noticed. Project 1:…

Self-Reflection 2 Eliut Lopez-Enriquez Millersville University Moral distress comes in many ways to many nurses. My moral distress situation came about when an unresponsive patient came to the emergency room and the family had a Do Not Resuscitate/Do Not Intubate paperwork. I was the primary nurse; the house supervisor was present to ensure that the proper paperwork was at hand. After verification of the paperwork and talks with the family, the team stood by to ensure the patient no further suffering and no further distress felt by the family.…

Learning can be interpreted in many ways to different individuals, although to me learning is about gaining knowledge and embracing every experience encountered and linking it to any task. Also I would explain that being open minded is a strong attribute to apply during the learning process. During my week one I stated that learning is to open and broaden an individual’s mind on subjects to gain knowledge or skills, and I’ve grown to realize its more than that. People can learn using different methods and be more responsive to one rather than the other. I am a Strong-Willed learner.…

Moreover, Pre-professional is the first pillar of my interdisciplinary studies, with all of my classes being focused on exercise science. This discipline of study gives me the power to help others through the knowledge I acquired in class. On the issue of leadership, having the know how is the most important quality when it comes to coaching and therapy. Thus, the chosen classes in exercise science provide the know-how on coaching/leadership, human physiology, history, nutrition, psychology and human movement. Defying stereotypes, I learned the most important message from pre-professional class, being exercise is medicine.…

Everyone hates English class is what I thought before taking English 102. However, that may have been the case before I entered Dr. Byrd’s domain, but after finishing the class I have come to the realization that English class can be greatly resourceful. English 102 this year has had its ups and downs, and I must admit the ups outweigh the downs. Meaning, this year, I have learned that I am not a student who wants to read or write, but through reading and writing my mind and skill sets concerning English have grown. During English 102 this year, reading and writing in class helped me expand my writing skills, improved my will to comprehend, and most importantly helped expand my knowledge.…

Aly Daniels Journal #1 Thoughts from the Week: The week seemed to take forever, once I entered the classroom. However, the favorite part of my day is the end of math, right before I leave for the day. The greatest success I had with this project was having better evaluations of the food that I eat throughout the day. From evaluating what I eat throughout the day, I have been able to amount figure out the appropriate amount of each macro nutrient I need. For example, if there is a moment that my blood sugar feels lower, I know that I need to consume a food source high in protein. This will balance my blood sugar level, as well as give my muscles the ability to recover and keep my metabolism running appropriately. When my body is lacking protein, my blood sugar gets low and my metabolism slows down, causing my body to store fat and run on less energy.…
