Eating protein from animal is a habit that I don’t think I can ever stop, even for a whole week. For this challenge, I was managed to not eat meat for three straight days, and my diet was consist of fruits, salads, eggs, and tofu. During the three days, I was always hungry no matter how much food I ate. The craving of meat was overwhelming after the first day. On the fourth day, I finally gave up and ate a burger for lunch. My craving for meat was extremely strong and it was the most convenience food to purchase since In-and-Out Burger was in walk able distance from my work place. After I ate the burger, I continued to eat meat at dinner and gave up on the challenge. I realized before that I need to eat healthier. At this period of time, I’m learning more than I expected in this class. Learning about the type of fat in foods, benefits of dietary fibers, and the affect of having a deficiency or excess of vitamins and minerals in the body are all very useful. The message I will take away from this class is eating in moderation is the key in having a healthy diet and you don’t have to completely avoid eating a certain type of food in order to lose weight. I’m very confident that I will use the information I’ve learned and apply them to my daily

Mr. Richards has come to realize the school does not put enough emphases on physical education or on good nutritional habits. This is an issue because in 2010 more than one-third of children and adolescents in America were considered overweight or obese (Powell, 2015).
