Week 1 Assignment Analysis

Ironically, I talked about biases during the last assignment. When watching this week’s video, I wanted to retract last week’s assignment and write about biases this week. Instead, I will talk about optimism. Staying optimistic can be a challenging task. The past decade the economy and political atmosphere has been less than optimistic. Leaders in today’s economy can suffer a pessimistic view of the world, effecting their careers. As stated in previously biases can create pessimistic observations, knowing and understanding those biases can help you create an optimistic view. Leaders need to exuberate optimism in order to motivate and create an environment conducive for inciting ideas. Positive motivation can allow goals and objectives met while maintaining a positive working environment.

Creating an environment in which you can be optimistic on a continuous basis in important for everyone. An organization does not want negative leaders, nor do the employees within that organization. Leaders who inspire and motivate are usually optimistic, and they have to be sincere. People know and understand the warning signs from someone who is faking a positive attitude. Motivating employees is one of the most important jobs of a leader. Organizations demand it and so do the employees. Not everyone can be positive or optimistic

Life is not full of rose pedals and candy canes, and remaining optimistic takes practice. I believe that I am a very optimistic person, and try to see the good in almost everything. I like being around optimistic people, it makes me feel good. I have been around those people who do not see the good in anything; they are always miserable and tend to hang around miserable people. I would rather be around those who have a positive attitude and even if life is not good at that moment, they see the possibility of good outcomes. I believe that positive people are healthier and more

Results Overview The different types of data collected provided insight into the ten participants’ thoughts relative to their overall feelings about the instruction and revealed the effectiveness and impact of the instruction. The pre- and post-test provided the opportunity to compare the results between topic questions which the instruction readily addressed and others where there may have been some ambiguity. The results of the end of instruction questionnaire helped to clarify some of the ambiguity from the pre- and post-test comparisons, as there appeared to be some correlation of the pre- and post-test answers when compared to the end of instruction questionnaire. Several participants struggled with the same questions in the pre- and post-test…

If people are optimistic and look for the good in everything, chances are they will get the good in everything, because they chose the ignore the bad. People who choose to see the negative side of things, or are pessimistic, tend to receive the negative aspects or side of things. For example, a person who is positive about all of the studying they did for an upcoming test, will stress less about it, and typically score better than someone who negatively views they’re studying. During childhood we are always told to be positive and look on the bright side of problems, but is there a limit to how optimistic one can be? In the novella Candide by Voltaire, satire is used to mock optimistic philosophers like Gottfried Leibniz during the Enlightenment movement. Voltaire uses the experiences of his characters to demonstrate the faults in optimistic philosophies, however he gets his main message across by using their reactions to horrific events. The main characters, Candide and Cunegonde, are educated in philosophy by Pangloss, a representation of Leibniz’s beliefs, and at the beginning fully believe that this is the best of all possible worlds and all is for the better.…
