Then he spoke to the bride and groom and invited them to take a seat while some of their guests speak and pray for them. A few people had gone up to speak and send their blessings. The one that stood out the most to me was that of the groom’s brother. He spoke about being married for ten years to his lovely wife. He was really genuine and touching in his speech. He joked about the good times and bad. He advised the bride and groom that no matter the circumstances, god had put them on this earth to become one. It really pulled me into the moment and caused me to reflect on my own life. The speech made me pause and truly appreciate all the blessings god has given me. This couple had a lot of bible verses recited in their wedding and a lot of unity in song. Sometimes people lose sight of what marriage is really about before they even get to the wedding. Most weddings I have been to are relatively short in comparison to this one and lack the amount of prayer and blessings. Another thing I noticed was this wedding differs from the rest in respect to priority. This wedding wasn’t about the bride or the fancy décor. In fact, this wedding lacked any sort of décor. That wasn’t the priority, this couple had invited god into their wedding and their lives that day. I think that is what set this wedding apart from any other I have seen. After witnessing this I now have a new respect for simplicity and unity of
