A Teacher named Mrs. Jessica Cano created a classroom website for her students to upload their art work to, and on her website she created a Webquest as a type of brainstorming assignment. The title is Art History 7Th Grade Webquest and is intended to help her students be introduced to various artists, learn in an innovative way by utilizing technology to discover artwork that is from around the world. In the description the webquest is developed to be appropriate for students in 6th to 8th grade in the subject area of art history. The Webquest is centered on researching famous artist, exploring different periods of art history, and to learn about famous galleries, like the Louvre Museum of Art located in Paris France.

A student would have no idea what standards they are reaching or in the future what standards they must be able to accomplish. The task itself is age appropriate and is consistent with grade level expectations. The ISET standards for students are reached by 4c collecting and analyzing data to make informed decisions, 2b communicate ideas and information effectively, and 3b organizing, analyzing, and evaluating information from a variety of digital sources (ISTE). The task requires students to answer questions by retrieving information from several different sources. There are six resources utilized in this webquest and all the resources are academic in nature. First is a virtual gallery, and online public library called ibibilo a public domain maintained by the University of North Carolina that is used to help student see images of paintings of the early Renaissance period. The next resource is the Web Gallery of Art a searchable fine art database here students will go on a virtual tour. The third resource is the Vatican Museum where students will be viewing Frescoes of The Sistine Chapel. The forth resource is a colorful website called Impressionum.org and here student will be introduced to the painting style of impressionist artist like Vincent Van Gogh. Next the student will visit the Metropolitan Museum of Art located in New York City, a beautiful web site that has amazing and high quality images. Finally the students will visit art of the Louvre Museum of Art located in Paris, France. (Total points

    I have chosen the Revolution in Paint exhibit from the North Carolina Museum of Art because the art that was created during the late 18th century introduced the use of impressionism and the drastic change from artworks created and influenced by the Renaissance to those created to express a new and emerging Industrial Era. Looking over the virtual art exhibit the display begins with examples of art created and influenced by the Renaissance followed by examples new pigments, collapsible paint tubes and storage that allowed painters to leave the studio and paint wherever they wished. With substantial information provided on the creation of impressionism during the time period the exhibit ends with a couple of paintings using impressionism to show the overall change in color, technique, and insight of art.
