A third weakness of mine is assuming people know what I am talking about. This can get you into trouble while using a Situational Leadership style when you are communicating with less experienced subordinates. My last recommendation to increase the overall effectiveness of my leadership ability is to take the time to communicate and recommunicate with subordinates to ensure they share my vision. As Perna (2016) states, “Situational leadership is useful for educating the leader on how to grow and to communicate to their followers in important situations” (p. 4). Whether it is taking the time to communicate with new employees or somebody much more experienced, clear communication can make the difference between a successful project, and a project that fails.
