Weaknesses Of Peer Evaluation

Decent Essays
One weakness in reference to the peer evaluation traits was my attitude towards the project. When the project began and I received my group assignment, I was extremely stressed about the project and afraid of failure. I did not want to make my team unsuccessful. The project seemed very confusing and I was working with a group of people who I did not know.

The project began and I was able to get to know my team and understand the process I began to feel more comfortable in completing the tasks. I listened to my group’s suggestions and ideas which was extremely valuable to me.

This project taught me to understand that in the workplace, situations will occur that I am not familiar with and I will be working with

The idea behind my project is to show how the aphorisms were always running through Morrie's mind. I drew a silhouette of Morrie and filled it with aphorisms that stood out to me. I did this to show that Morrie, himself, came up with these aphorisms, and not someone else. Morrie used the aphorisms to teach and get a point across in a way that is easy to understand. My project is another tool to help get Morrie's many messages read.…

The debate on the importance of Liberal Arts is dear to my heart because of the impact my high school Humanities class had on me. Because of this, I had no difficulty forming an opinion in the debate and seeing the flaws in arguments against Liberal Arts. However, analyzing the flaws in an argument I agree with was harder than expected, but with the use of rhetorical analysis I was able to see the strong and weak points in the article. This allowed me to create a strong response that portrays my opinion in relation to the article’s arguments. Peer review was helpful because the process brought to light multiple grammar issues.…

Engaging in this project has taught me every aspect of MOHO that I need to know and more. The understanding of the inputs, throughputs, outputs, and feedback are now very clear. This project has also taught me how to work well with group members and trust them on the work they are participating in because before this project, I did not believe others contributed enough to fully succeed.…

I believe peer review might just be one of the greatest tools for good writing. Peer review not only helps the author correct his mistakes like vocabulary and sentence structure, but helps the writer learn from them. Many times it will teach us to check for those same mistakes the next time we write. Many writing teachers always tell us to read our papers out loud, and even though we try to, sometimes we're just reading what is prerecorded in our brains. Sometimes we've thought about it so much that we are not seeing the actual words we are putting down on the paper but what is our minds told us we meant to write.…

Participating in the Problem Mapping Dialogue project gave me new insight into how groups function. I believe this experience will serve me well as I go through my college career and work on various group assignments. My group for this project excelled in some areas but faced some obstacles in other aspects of the assignment. This activity provided us with solid feedback about what parts of group work we do well and what we need to improve for the future. One strength that I observed among my group members was that we seemed to have the ability to piggyback off each other’s comments.…

The evidence I have for the collegiate/peer feedback is the comment I received from the mentor teacher on my self-evaluation form, the self-evaluation form for the self-assessment/reflection, and 3 students surveys from each of the three classes that I taught for the student feedback (see Appendix 1). Area of strength An area of strength for my teaching practice would be the different teaching methods and multiple forms of literacy that I’ve included in the lessons, as I have been trying to do a different activity for each lessons, or includes visual, music, and videos in the lessons to give students different approaches to the contents.
