The Age of Innocence by Edith Wharton and We Were Liars by E. Lockhart both involve the main characters The Age of Innocence and We Were Liars both have many similarities such as relationships, and sometimes lying. In The Age of Innocence Newland Archer and May Welland became engaged which showed the love they have for each other in the beginning of the book. In We Were Liars Cadence had a crush on Gat and they spent time with each other on various activities. Also, Newland and May spent time with each other by attending operas and going on trips. Newland Archer’s biggest lie was when he told May that he was not seeing anyone else when May asked why he wanted to move up the engagement. But he was in fact seeing Ellen Olenska. In We Were Liars
