Lockhart, Gatwick "Gat" Matthew Patil is a big thinker who hopes to change the world. Gat is the main character's love interest in this book. From the beginning, he shows characteristics of curiosity and intelligence. To me, Gat is the character that is the most captivating because I can relate to him. I also found myself understanding how he felt at many parts of the book.
