Rebuttal: there are more things that are harmful and produce more CO2 than planting and transporting flowers

Flower is not a novel object to us, as almost all of us have seen flowers once in our life, either by seeing in nature, televisions, or through the flower industry. Cut flowers were already popular from the early 1990s, and now they are still continue being used in many occasions, as it is very convenient to buy and use them as they are already been cut from the plants. Many people buy these cut flowers and give them to other people to show their love, appreciate, and respect, on many holidays, such as Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, and International Women Day. One of the largest lakes in the world, Aral Sea, was completely dried in 2014. By 2015, Arizona’s Lake Powell lost 55% of its water. The production of wheat, rice, and maize was reduced by 10% because of the drought (http://theplate.nationalgeographic.com/2016/01/12/how-to-track-a-brutal-cereal-killer-extreme-weather/). Now, global warming is even affecting us. On June 1st, Californians face restrictions on water usage after four years of drought. As the result, they have to use less water; some have to stop watering their plants, and have to replace them with drought tolerant plants. They may even get a fine of $500 if they do not follow the restrictions. The drought is so severe that even the winter storm, El Niño cannot stop the drought; therefore, we still need to wait for many more big storms to bring back the lost
