Prostitution is a controversial topic that has many ideas and issues surrounding it. It’s tied to other problems such as human trafficking and abuse, which is why it is seen as an increasing problem worldwide. Human trafficking is a crime known for its extreme violence against people and the violation of their self (Zimmerman et, al, 2011). This involves the violation of their personal space, and their removal from their environment, commonly against their own will. The most common reported victims are women and children. According to the article, Human Trafficking and Health: A Conceptual model to inform policy, intervention and research; there is a high health concern against the victims and the fact that their health issues are usually overlooked.

The women that are trafficked to be put into prostitution go through sexual and psychological abuse. The abuse that they go though is crucial and they can’t do anything to defend themselves. They are being put into forced sexual labor that affects them and the people around them.
