In the article “We Need to Talk Some More about Your Dirty Sponges” consults about a microbiologist, Marcus Egert who explains the best way to keep your sponge clean. In this experiment they used 14 samples of sponges from 14 random people who clean their sponges daily. They calculated the data from each sponge and found that when cleaning your sponge with soap and a microwave can actually gain more bacteria called Moraxella osloensis. Moraxella osloensis is a type of bacteria that can cause diseases who have a “compromised immune system”. Studies show that the best way not to attract any infections is by throwing your spong away, at most once a week or when it starts to stink.
