We Must Stop Climate Change Essay
The surface of the Earth is increasing in temperature to a degree beyond what many species can handle. This is resulting to eliminating habitats, reduced food sources, causing drought, and even directly killing species that simply cannot stand the heat. In fact, scientists predict that if we keep on with our current greenhouse gas emissions path, climate change will cause more than a third of the Earth’s animal and plant species to face extinction by 2050. According to the IPCC consensus report, there is a 5% chance that the average temperature of the planet will rise by more than 6.4ºC before 2100. The English scientist, Mark Lynas, found out that a 6ºC increase in temperature will execute about every life form on the planet, us included. Although the government are facing this problem, they are still not implementing laws against what causes global warming.

The Union of Concerned Scientists stated that sooner or later the climate change will cripple the economy. They said that sea-level, floods, droughts, wildfires, and extreme storms will damage land and infrastructure such as homes, roads, bridges, railroad tracks, airport runways, power lines, dams, and seawalls.
