The distinctive aspect of the issues regarding the environment and the Earth is that it affects every single human, organism and species living on this planet. The very real threat of species extinction must matter to every person. We cannot begin to reverse the devastation of our world without the challenges resonating in the minds of all society. In the article ‘We must all act to stop extinction’ by Robert Blumenschine, he writes passionately on the topic of extinction and initiatives that need to be implemented to prevent further extinction. Whats needed is informational, public outreach and educational instruments implemented to help people realize the extreme importance of the environment. Blumenschine states the most important realization people need is that we are a part of nature, not apart from nature — a fundamental change in attitude is essential if we are going to change our ways radically and realize that our future prosperity, and perhaps even our very survival, depends on the survival of natural ecosystems and the biodiversity they support. We are currently living through the sixth mass extinction, but unlike earlier extinctions, this one is being caused by human activity.
