In the Article "We Don't Need Gender Snoops in Public Bathrooms" discusses how a Florida State Representative has introduced a law that would arrest someone using a single sex restroom if they were the opposite sex. The author states that this could be a problem for transgender males or females who have already went through the necessary steps to permanently change their sex. Florida's state representative Frank Artiles is worried about the crimes that can take place by allowing a transgender to use the restroom of the opposite sex. The author argues, that anyone wishing to impose a crime against someone is going to happen whether they walk into a restroom of the opposite sex disguising to be male or female or not. Currently the law remains if a person of the opposite sex listed on their birth record, the person can face jail time and fines for doing so. Therefore, unless a bathroom is gender neutral, not matter what sex you identify with, you must use the bathroom that fits your gender match as stated on your birth certificate. The author argues that anyone who is not phased by breaking the law, wont stop them from entering a restroom that prohibits them from using either. In addition, the author argues that most people would not even notice a transgender using the public restroom, and if they did notice, they most likely would not confront them to find out if they are the right gender for the specific restroom they are in. Transgender is happening more and more, eventually lawmakers will have to figure out what will work and what will not work. For now, we can just hope to use the public restroom privately and safely and not be offended whether you are transgender or
