Awesome Title I Still Need to Work On Whenever I’m in one of my classes I tend to hear a student’s name being called out of for attendance who rarely seems to show up or do their work. You can also encounter the other type of student who doesn’t seem to belong in a classroom. The student always taking, texting, or causing some type of disruption. I keep wondering why someone would waste their money for something they are not using or preventing others from getting their money’s worth. One questions tends to circulate not only in my mine but in the mind of others, why are they here? Are too many people going to college? Well, in my opinion too many people are attempting college but don’t succeed. From my own college experience, many students tend to drop out the first year or even the first semester of college. Throughout grade, middle, and high school teacher would hold your hands through every step as a way to prepare you for college and make you college ready. After graduating and moving into college you are told to use the steps you used in high school to complete an assignment. You are no longer given the amount of help or guidance as you were accustomed to, you have to go out of your way and seek your own support if it is not provided for you. It’s to the point where you have to think for yourself and solve problems using the knowledge you picked up over the years. So what exactly is college readiness?
