I feel that all examples that been listed in "We are Free to be You, Me, Stupid, and Dead," were all great examples for controversial and offensive acts besides one. The one that I feel that offended me the most was with the basketball player Mahmond Abdul-Rauf. Roger Rosenblatt stated that Mahmond Abdul-Rauf refused to stand for the playing of the national anthem. In my personal beliefs, I feel that Mahmond Abdul-Rauf was wrong because he did not stand up for the national anthem.Yes, I understand that he has personal religious beliefs but, how does anyone's religion affects one by standing up for the national anthem.
