There are many reasons, but the main one is I have been in the hospital over the last eight years more than anyone should. The area I have found lacking is the administration, which is the main area of work I have done. Most of the nurses and emergency room doctors know me by face and name, however, the administration will not remember me even if they had seen me a couple days prior. This is one of the main reasons I hope to work at St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Junction or Montrose Memorial Hospital in Montrose once I have my degree. I am really good at remembering faces and people, even if I have met them once. So, to me, becoming closer to God by learning about Him and His Word in Biblical Studies is the biggest personal improvement I can make. It also makes sense that gaining two college degrees is another path to personal improvement, and with my degree in Healthcare Administration Management I am improving myself exponentially. “Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only through experience of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, vision cleared, ambitions inspired, and success achieved.” (Unknown, 2002) Learning good study habits, how to prioritize and schedule your time, and doing the necessary work on time in college will be carried over into your work habits as well, so personal improvement is gained once again.
