Watson and Crick soon went from amazing scientists to crooks, after people learned of their discovery methods. They both had large backgrounds in science, but the research they used was not entirely theirs. Without giving credit to the other researcher involved, the pair became a controversial topic. It took some time for Rosalind’s name to be …show more content…
Her x-ray crystallography skills allowed her to take one clear and defining photograph of DNA. This photograph proved it all, showing the true structure of the molecule. It was easy for Watson and Crick to hide the fact that it was her information. She was a woman in a man’s world. The university that she did her research at took away her right to protect what she found. She was not allowed to take her research to critical meetings because women weren’t permitted to attend the meetings. The state of being a woman took her right to own her information, and the fact that she passed from ovarian cancer before the Nobel prize was given out after she passed, meant it was impossible for her to fight that she deserved credit
