One of these foreshadows are when Fiver had the vision of the warren getting attacked in the beginning of the novel; in the future it really does get attacked. This one vision Fiver had foreshadows men coming in cars with guns and ferrets attacking the warren. “The men carried these things into the field and the few rabbits who were above ground went down. I didn’t. I’d seen the gun and I thought they were probably going to use ferrets and perhaps nets. So I stayed where I was and watched.” (Adams 153) Another example of a foreshadow is when Fiver envisions that Cowslip’s warren is not right; that there’s something off about that warren. Fiver believes whatever it is it’s not good. Then later in the book he discovers something was really off with the warren. Fiver had discovered that these rabbits were being held by a farmer, who was just basically using the rabbits for what the rabbits offered for him and others. “Once there was a fine warren on the edge of a wood, overlooking the meadows of a farm. It was big, full of rabbit…… one day the farmer thought, I could increase those rabbits: make them part of my farm---their meat, their skins.” (Adams 115) Lastly, Fiver’s vision of Hazel not dead, helped save Hazel’s life. Hazel is a great leader and shows that statement in many ways. One way, is when Cowslip was lying to Hazel and the other rabbits the whole time about his warren. Despite the lies, Hazel let one of the rabbits from Cowslip’s warren, Strawberry come with them on their journey. “You can come with with us, he said. Don’t say any more. Poor fellow.”(Adams 118) Secondly, Hazel risked his life for the safety of his fellow rabbits. This shows great strength and also how he developed good enough friendships to risk his own life to save his fellow rabbits in his warren. Lastly, Hazel refuses to leave Pipkin and Fiver behind when they can’t swim across the river. This shows how Hazel is a good leader by having a good relationship with Pipkin and Fiver and that he knows not to push them to their breaking points, but to wait until they feel comfortable. “I think we ought to stay here until ni-frith. That’ll give everyone a chance to rest and then we can swim across to those fields.” (Adams 35) These three incidents show how Hazel is a great leader and will do anything for his
