Waterfront Reflection

Decent Essays
I demonstrated leadership at the waterfront festival by presenting the importance and safety of keeping water clean. I expressed this by keeping the students focused, letting them engage in hands on experiments, and answering all their questions to help them get a better understanding of what was happening. These leadership skills helped me earn respect from each student.

One of the ways I demonstrated leadership while presenting to the students was making sure they were focused on my presentation. To keep the students focused I used visuals to help them better understand and kept the presentation interesting.

Another way I used leadership was to let each student contribute in hands on experiments. This helped to ensure that no one was left

Leadership is defined as being a leader of an organization or a group of individuals. To me a leader is someone who will give their all to accommodate someone in obligation of assistance. A leader doesn’t give up on hard task and pushes to be an example for their peers. I have demonstrated my leadership in and out of school by being a responsible, honest and hardworking individual, who expresses empathy to help those who didn’t think they could achieve a goal on their own. While in high school I have been in multiple extracurricular activities such as Drill Team, FBLA, FCCLA, Student Council, Class Treasurer, NHS and Yearbook.…

Your reflection of two questions establishes how much a bearing someone can possess by comprehension with daily assistance to up-and-coming minorities and immigrants as a director of an elementary school’s After Care as well as a family and community liaison such as computer, communication, English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), and parenting classes. The Guatemalan center in Lake worth is a prime example of other institution doing the same through lending a hand to understand assimilate these individuals into our civilization. I would hope that in my six years prior to being promoted to an assistant principal, I would have laid the foundation for positive relationships with the students, or at least some pocket of students. Additionally, I would think about the mindset of not necessarily the students, but the current faculty and staff and begin to measure the outlook that is currently in place. From here I would want to make changes that lead the community to a more positive mindset and outlook. Green (2013) states, “Effective leaders emphasized the development of interpersonal relationships while focusing on the personal needs of followers and the development of the kinds of relationships that would motivate followers to set and achieve high performance goals”.…

On the early Saturday morning, October 3, 2015, I took the Blue and Gold Ferry from pier 41 of San Francisco to Angel Island to attend a Nikkei Pilgrimage organized by the Nichi Bei Foundation. Since I grew up and got educated in San Francisco, Angel Island is not a strange place for me. Throughout the years, I have taken many school field trips to Angel Island to learn about the tragic history of the island. I have learned about the “Chinese’s Angel Island experience” so I am familiar with the historical perspective of the Chinese immigration’s struggle while they were detained the island. I was anxious to attend this event because I did not have any knowledge on the Japanese that were detained on the Angel Island.…

Today I presented my untitled poem to the class. My poem was about my life here in Pensacola and some of my opinions on staying here and leaving. I really didn’t have any major inspiration to the poem besides the fact that I have been watching a ton of college move in videos on youtube. I always say things like “I hate Pensacola” or “there’s nothing to do here” (which I still agree with) and “I can’t wait until I leave”, but honestly, I can wait. I can wait forever.…

My first leadership experience came from being a voluntary work as a life- and management skills trainer, where I had to deal with different background, minds and studies trainees, to be the leader of my own session, the thing that let me build my communication, discussion and presentation skills. During this period I have met so many people with various way of thinking, where I succeed dealing with them each time. After that I started working as assistant supervisor in a psychological support centre for the international medical corps, where I had the chance to deal with very professional and creative people, the hardest thing was being accepted as the youngest member of the team and to be known as a leader , but being in this atmosphere…

My leadership philosophy is one that is rooted in the strong belief that it must be a continuous quest to motivate all students to become critical thinkers, effective communicators, and lifelong learners, while possessing outstanding character. This includes assisting students with discovering their talents and interests, therefore developing a love of learning, while developing into ethical, productive citizens. Accomplishing this requires a leader who is knowledgeable in pedagogy and curriculum, including the use of data and current assessments to enhance instruction, and who possesses outstanding communication skills, the ability to manage an operation’s resources effectively, promotes collaboration and teamwork, and is passionate and committed to helping students learn. I believe that my interpersonal skills will be my biggest strength as an educational leader. Through frequent, honest communication, and my enthusiasm for the subject, I will demonstrate understanding and compassion for those around me, therefore building trusting relationships.…

I can still remember the day when my parents told me the phrase, “You are a leader, not a follower.” It was in kindergarden right after I told them about a few girls who were making fun of a friend of fine, and I decided to stop them and defend her. When my parents told me that phrase, it definitely stuck with me throughout my life. I think that’s a phase most kids hear time to time in their childhood. It’s that phrase that makes you question, what it a leader?…

Communication, organisation, self development, control and being a role model are just a few of the basic skills required to make a good leader. All are vital to a head girl who…

Introduction As I reflect on this course and the results of the Questionnaires, Reflection, and Action Worksheets I have learned many aspects of leadership. I have analyzed the definition of leadership and now have a clearer understanding of it. According to, Introduction to Leadership; concepts and practice, by Peter Northouse (2015), leadership can be composed of many variables such as relationship, trait, ability, skill, behavior, and influence process. He also elaborates on how the “leadership of an individual can be used to influence a group to accomplish a common goal”. In addition, he discusses how leadership is not the same as management (Northouse, 2015, pp. 3-7).…
