While conducting a check of Waterfront Park, I was approached by two city residents. Both residents advised me that they observed a blond female subject "passed out" on her driveway, located at 8715 Old Post Road. The residents stated that we probably all knew who the subject was because of all the trouble she has caused her grandparents.
I immediately notified dispatch of the situation and I responded to 8715 Old Post Road to attempt to locate. While en route, the Port Richey Fire Department was notified and responded shortly after.
Upon arrival, I located the White female subject, identified as Jessica Marie Willis. I recognized Willis from several previous encounters. Willis was in laying supine on the driveway in …show more content…
However, when asked if Willis was suicidal, she stated "I am dying anyway, I don't care." Willis advised me that she had lung cancer and she was going to die soon anyhow.
I then knocked on the front door of the residence and made contact with Willis's grandfather, William Wood. I advised Wood of my findings. Wood advised me that Willis had been inhaling aerosol cans of dust cleaner since the early morning. Wood stated "I caught her inhaling a can last night, I threw it in the water and she jumped in and got it." Wood then proceeded to the driveway with me to make contact with Willis. Shortly after, the F.D. arrived on scene.
Willis continued to refuse to cooperate and let the F.D. medically evaluate her. Willis then stood up and attempted to flee the scene on foot. For Officer safety, the F.D assisted me in detaining Willis in handcuffs Willis was placed into my patrol vehicle.
I again made contact with Wood and advised him that Willis was being placed under a baker act. Wood agree and stated "she needs help or she's going to kill
