My Opinion on Water Polo

Do you want to find the perfect sport to play? Although there are many sports to choose from, I think water polo is the best. Water polo is a combination of swimming, wrestling, soccer, and basketball. Water polo is a tough sport which requires a lot of endurance. Not many people play water polo so in games you get more playing time. Water polo is the best sport to play because it is good if you like to swim, you get in very good shape, and it feels nice to play in the summer.
Do you like to swim? Well if you do come and try to play water polo. As Clayton Jones said, ”I always wanted to be Peter Pan, the boy who never grows up. I can’t fly, but swimming is the next best thing. It’s harmony and balance. The water is my sky.” On long summer days and your parents won’t take you to the pool well water polo is a great way to get to swim in the afternoon. Again everybody likes to swim so imagine swimming for three times a week. Finally, where else on earth can you feel like you are weightless. This is why if you like to swim water polo is the right sport for you.

You will dominate this game if your legs are the strongest in the pool.” Everybody likes to stay in shape well water polo is one of the best workouts you can get. Some sports like baseball and basketball, only give you a small workout for about an hour, but compared to water polo for two and a half hours the workout baseball and basketball provide is nothing compared to the workout from water polo. Water polo also combines a workout for all the parts of your body so it is a full body workout. The long practices also makes your workout time longer which makes for a better workout. This is why water polo is a great way to stay in

How to Get a Good Workout in the Pool Working out in the pool might not seem like the most effective way to slim down and shape up, but a pool-based workout burns a surprising number of calories, boosts your metabolism, works every muscle in your body, and improves your over-all fitness level. Working out in the swimming pool is so effective because water provides natural resistance – as it is almost 800 times denser than air – so each movement that you make while submerged in water works your muscles harder than doing similar cardio- or strength-based exercise on dry-land. Getting Started Most people think that working out in the pool consists of jumping in and swimming a few lengths, but getting a decent workout in the pool requires a bit more effort. Training in…

Walking on the pool deck my freshman year I was nervous yet excited. I questioned what I was doing as I had never played water polo, but I decided to give it a try. I thought, ‘how hard could it be.’ My first practice proved it was truly brutal. I was out of shape, did not perform the drills correctly, and I could barely swim with the ball.…

Lacrosse is the best sport to try in the spring or summer because it’s a very engaging activity, it requires a large amount of skill, strength, and cardio. It’s a beautiful sport because I love how it was discovered and the history behind it. I also love the complex rules towards the game. Finally I love interacting with the different people I meet from playing the game of lacrosse. Last year during my last summer as an 8th grader my friends and I went every where we biked, long-boarded, and ran.…

Swimming is a hardcore obligation to make and I wonder all the time if this is worth it? Waking up at 4am really takes away valuable sleep and studying time for school. Time management is a key because you have to plan for a good amount of sleep while working with getting your school work done in an efficient time manner. The sport takes away any free time outside of the pool, such as going to the movies, amusement parks, or just anything other than swimming because you have morning practice and then afternoon workouts. Working was also tough because you had to work around your swimming schedule, but lucky for I worked as a lifeguard for YMCA that was willing to construct a plan that fits my conflicts.…

Heywood Broun said, “Sports do not build character. They reveal it.” Consequently, I believe that being on my high school swim team was the one of the biggest revelations of my character. When I entered high school, I had to play a sport because it was my mom’s rule, “you will participate in minimally one sport”. As a result, my brother played football, ran track, and swam.…

The Lesson in Quitting For the past 7 years of my life, swimming has played a huge role. Growing up, I had always enjoyed being in the water, and was one of the odd kids that genuinely enjoyed swimming lessons, no bribes required (thinking about it, I wish I had some of those kids in the lessons I teach now). Overtime, it began to feel less like a passion and more like an obligation; something I had committed to that was too late to stop. I was afraid to quit, afraid to disappoint, and trying to be dedicated to a sport I had lost interest in made me start to hate it. This year, I finally decided to drop the sport, and am now embracing the huge change it has had in my life.…

The bed mercilessly taunts my exhausted limbs to return but my determined heart persuades me to brave the trial by water once more. As I dive over the ice cold pool, dread and regret fill every moment until my body finally makes contact. For two, sometimes three, hours the situation will only worsen as I repeatedly raise my arms above my head and pull back as hard as possible. Weeks of this pass by, all for the sake of being able to travel through 100 meters of water a few milliseconds faster. Swimming has been my primary sport since the age of eight.…
