Water is essential to humans, but who knew it can also harm them. Humans are becoming affected by drinking water directly from the water bodies. Tons of chemicals get mixed into the water and those who drink it, die or catch diseases. Diarrhoea is caused by different microorganisms (ex.viruses, bacteria, and protozoans), which leads to dehydration and possibly to death (Unicef). Humans have no other option, but to ingest contaminated water especially in underdeveloped countries. “About 4 billion cases of diarrhoea per year cause 1.8 million deaths, over 90 per cent of them (1.6 million) among children under five” (Unicef). Diarrhoea is not the only type of disease that occurs when drinking contaminated water. Cholera is an infectious disease that causes mild liquidy diarrhea. “Every year, there are an estimated 3-5 million cholera cases and 100,000–120,000 deaths due to cholera (Enviropol).” This is completely outrageous and unfair to these people that have no option, but to drink this water. However, humans are infact the ones who are toxicating the water that they drink from by dumping industrial waste and all kinds of other trash. For this reason, they should deserve to drink this filthy water …show more content…
There is going to be a decrease in humans in the world if this problem continues. People that are living in undeveloped countries are not fortunate enough to drink clean and safe water that has been filtered. They have the option to drink it or starve to death. Some humans are still drinking the contaminated water and dying because of deadly diseases. Not only humans have this problem, but marine animals have to live in this disgusting water. Tons of waste will be dumped day by day into the water bodies thinking that the waste waste will somehow dissolve into the water. However, the animals are unaware of this and try feeding on the waste. All the polluted water is being dumped onto land leaving bits and pieces of the trash lying around. Leaving all this waste behind for days, can cause many viruses and bacteria to develop. “More than one billion people lack access to clean water and 2.4 billion don’t have adequate sanitation, putting them at risk of contracting deadly diseases (Worldwildlife). This is outrageous to hear because there are people around the world that are simply wasting water, where people are dying for clean water. Saving all the water that is being wasted by leaving the tap on and taking long showers can be decreased and given to people that actually need
