Unlike other countries, Guatemala is not given this care. This causes an even bigger problem because then Guatemalans drink dirty water and get sick or sometimes even die. Not only this but once they are taught how to be hygienic, people often refuse to leave their old customs. When I interviewed Nick Chudeau he told me, “most of the times third world countries’ water problems aren’t necessary people not having clean water, but rather people not having good hygienic practices when they drink, eat and cook”. This demonstrates, how ignorance is a contributing factor to water related diseases. However, Nick Chudeau is right to a certain extent, sometimes being unhygienic does not affect your health. Nevertheless, this isn't the biggest problem regarding water issues. This can be proven with some information I got through my extensive investigation.
