Water On The Moon Essay

Improved Essays
At the very beginning, all the scientists decided, after analyzing some data from researches, that the moon was dry. Years later, they got to the conclusion that there was a presence of water, just that they didn’t know what its origin was. Looking for a cause, they thought it was the falling comets that left some of their carrying water in the Earth’s satellite, based on pictures taken. Nowadays, with the development of new technology and better resources to gather information in the Moon, they understood what could be an unknown reason, which can actually affected the existence of water there. The investigators are claiming that the water that is reserved in the Moon, is a result of asteroids that like deliverers, fell there and left traces …show more content…
Those traps will keep the evaporated water in the Moon, when the comets consisting of water, fall. This theory had to be proved so from lunar missions such as Cassini probe, Deep impact and others, they got valuable information. Investigators that analyzed the first piece of data, concluded that there were significant quantities of water and hydroxyl groups, found in particles of gas and dust, confirming the claim. Another studies came from maps of water distribution on the surface, provided by a Russian LEND apparatus, in which they found a controversy between their theory and the actual evidence. As a result, they adopted the idea of lunar congelation, but this time affirming that the survival of water ice could be possible under a soil blanket even in the areas receiving sunlight. Looking forward the same source of information, it was suggested that water could also exist in the solar wind. Scientists described this as in the solar wind were hydrogen atoms reacting with oxygen atoms forming water molecules and hydroxyl groups, just as mentioned before. Still they had more questions than answers, but with leaving the idea of water in bound state open. Well known researchers, investigating the fall of comets and asteroids, organized a mechanism of delivery of water and supply. In order to do so, they created a model on the computer, simulating the falling of a space body onto the Moon’s surface with the exact measurements. It showed the temperatures along the falling body when impacting with the

In 2006, NASA took pictures of the moon’s surface and saw the lunar buggy tracks from the first mission. If scientists have proof that the lunar buggy was on the moon, then that leaves me to believe that the moon landing was real. Some people say that it could've been something else that left tracks on the moon. If we were the first people to go the moon, then what could it have been? It could have only been the lunar buggy.…

In June of 2009, NASA launched a spacecraft to the moon that was unmanned. The spacecrafts are supposed to reveal if there is ice or water underneath the surface of the moon. It would be revealed by the twin impacts of the Lunar Crater Observation and its Sensing Satellite. To collect this information, the crafts are supposed to crash into the moon at a speed of 6,000 mph. Nasa expects "plumes of moon dust — perhaps full of ice — (to soar) 6.2 miles high above the moon's Cabeus crater."…

The one reason that the waving flag, when you look at the photo of Neil on the moon, the flag does know that it 's moving and that is a little odd since there is no atmosphere out there, that is a huge head scratcher just because if they were really on the moon why is it moving. Another reason why I agree with it being a conspiracy is because the claim has it that if they landed on the moon that the crater would be so much deeper and larger than it really is. In the photo, it is not really even visible or ever look like it was moved. Of the 10 reasons that I saw, reading into them really makes me think that maybe the moon landing never really happened. The claims that are being said really make sense, especially if you look at the photos being shown; you see exactly what thousands of others see.…

An impact basin or impact crater is defined as the circular depression in the surface of a solid body in the solar system such as moon or some other planet. A lunar impact basin is a depression / cavity caused by a meteor or comet hitting the Moon with a greater speed. Impact basins typically have raised rims and floors that are lower in elevation than the surrounding surface. There are over 40 impact basins on the Moon. These basins were created by extremely powerful impacts, which usually cracked and deformed the lunar crust and eject a material over a huge area.…

David French is a well-known Canadian playwright and his play Salt-Water Moon showcases Canadian identity in many ways. Through the dialect spoken by the protagonists, Mary Snow and Jacob Mercer, in a Canadian accent instead of the Newfoundland accent the play intended, the Canadian identity is questioned. Also, with the play being focused around Mary and Jacob living in the aftermath of World War One and the battle of Beaumont Hamel, French makes known the battle that ultimately slaughtered thousands of Newfoundlanders and brings soldiers untold stories to the surface through Mary’s encounters with other characters. Additionally, the play shows the theme of class faced by the characters and the need to advance in Canadian society. Through…
