Water is essential for life to exist on Earth. It exists as a solid, liquid, and gas and is common in every state. Covering about 75% of Earth’s surface and 70-90% of mass in living organisms, water is the most abundant liquid on Earth (Sarquis). In the Bible, water is mentioned many times in the Old and New Testament. The unique physical properties such as hydrogen bonding, evaporation, and surface tension are mentioned in the Bible and help to prove the existence of a Creator through not only faith, but science.
Psalm 65:9-10 states “You care for the land and water it; you enrich it abundantly. The streams of God are filled with water to provide the people with grain, for so you have ordained it.” This verse is praising God for his creation and constant nourishment of land through water. It says that the water provides food for people because that is what God intended.
Liquid water is a fluid substance; it has the ability to flow and take the shape of its container, like all liquids (Sarquis). In the verse, it clearly states that Earth is covered with flowing streams meant for the nourishment of mankind. If water was not a fluid substance, this would not be possible.
For water to be able to provide people with grain or anything that grows out of the ground, it would have to travel up the stem of the grain or plant.
