Usually, the main figure in the story of the wedding at Cana is the wine which ran out. On the other hand, water played a very important role. If there was no source of water at hand; how could the servants fill the six stone jars at the request of Jesus. The empty stone jars may have been full with water, but by that stage, the water was finished, because the guests washed their hand and feet before entering into the banquet room. Water which has been, all through the source of life in a very ordinary way, has become also the source of life and celebration in an extraordinary life.
