When it comes to understanding yourself and your personality on a deeper level than normally, you must take personal stories into perspective that have shaped your life while growing up. According to McAdams, “defining oneself through a personal story is an act of psychological and social responsibility” (Engler 2009). Some of my strengths in this domain are establishing/completing priority assessments, evaluating/monitoring nursing actions, and completing thorough assessments on clients concerns. During a shift I worked with a client who had just had an abdominal surgery. Upon doing my head-to-toe, he expressed that he had numbness in his upper thigh. I assessed this further, asking him about when it started, when its numb, looked at his CSMW and circulation, as well as asked about pain and sensation. He explained that it began during the night and had persisted into the day.…

The exercise allowed me to strengthen my appreciation for unspoken communication. Appreciation for unspoken communication can greatly enhance and supplement the meaning of what the speaker verbally expresses. Overall, the exercise took approximately two days to finish it. The following is a summary of that exercise, including a description and the procedures I used to complete it.…

I am in my second year at UCLA with a full scholarship for tuition and very minimal loans. Granted I have had some ups and downs with my GPA, I have overall been managing my grades. As a student, you can say I have been quite successful.…
