India, for example, struggles greatly with the burdens of the amounts of consumer waste they accumulate. The high growth of population in India directly relates to their issues with waste. The quality of life is greatly depressed by the overflow of garbage and lack of waste management implemented by their country. It was stated that while they have waste bins in their communities, they are rarely emptied. When they are tended to, the garbage is then dumped out on the edges of towns, left to accumulate (Jeffrey, 2015). The constant growth of major cities leads to inevitable merging between public locations and these sites where waste is disposed of, as it doesn 't have any strict means of control (Sharholy, Ahmad, Mahmood & Trivedi, 2008). This relates directly to the problem that was shown on earth throughout the movie. Garbage was scattered throughout public areas, with no means of control. In reality, such as in India, this leads to public health safety issues. As the waste decomposes, this can attract insects and vectors of disease, as well as harm the built environment (Sharholy et al., 2008). When referring to India 's issues with garbage, it was stated that “continuous indiscriminate disposal of municipal solid waste is accelerating and is linked to poverty, poor governance, urbanization, population growth, poor living standards, low levels of environmental awareness, and inadequate management of environmental knowledge.” (Gupta, Yadav, & Kumar, 2015). In the movie, their population contained many of the qualities which are linked to excessive waste, such as urbanization, population growth, and lack of knowledge and management regarding the environment and waste.
