As soon as I heard that my class (Writing 121) and I had to do a project or multimodal text on a topic of our choosing, I thought of all the things I like. The NBA was the first thing that popped into my brain and from there I went to the NBA playoffs which were about to start at that time. I always try to do assignments on things I enjoy. It makes everything easy. Also after the first week I found out that we had to do a short presentation and my heart dropped when I heard that. I am terrified of public speaking but it is something I want to work on and this was great practice I suppose.
My intended purpose for my project is to teach or show people who don’t watch the NBA playoffs how it works. As well as at the end for them to be able to …show more content…
If you don't know anything about the playoffs you will get a gist of it through my Prezi. If you already know about the playoffs it will be a quick reminder of how they work. Ideal readers would be people who watch the NBA but for some reason don't watch the playoffs. If someone watches the NBA and then go on to view my prezi, they’re going to understand the “lingo” I used and know a couple of things on my prezi. Basketball fanatics in general beit college, WNBA or overseas might encounter this project.
The reason why I chose to do my project on the NBA playoffs was because I am comfortable talking about it and know the topic fairly well. At first I wanted to do a basketball court as my background but then resorted to do a nice but simple NBA playoffs background for my prezi. The basketball court would've been really creative but being that it was my first time using Prezi it would've took a cool minute to accomplish that. However, if I did add more slides somehow it would've been too much text to read. So, I was conflicted as to what was correct but I hope I chose the right path. In any project that anyone does you run into problems. For this particular project I ran into a small issue that was and image I wanted to use was really blurry. I then proceeded to ask for help and got the issue fixed. Another problem I had I already mentioned above about the having too much text. Beside that everything went smoothly or the problems were rather insignificant. I really enjoyed this writing class. The only bad thing I can think of was having to be in class at 8
