INTRODUCTION When electricity is taken into consideration, we in our daily life waste a lot of electricity. We forget to switch off the electrical appliances or remove it from the plug. The same problem is on RRU campus. There is a lot of electrical wastage by keeping the lights in classroom, computers in the lab always on, even if not in use or simply ignoring the fact of turning off the appliance resulting in the wastage of electricity.
NARROWED PROBLEM STATEMENT
The usage of electricity is increasing daily so is the wastage. Most of the electricity wastage is done due to lack of awareness of saving electricity. Bekker et al. (2010) said simply giving knowledge of saving electricity does not encourage the students to save electricity. The main focus of our analysis is How Might RRU Reduce Electricity Wastage on Campus? RRU contributes in lot of sustainability activities on the campus. The only area RRU should focus on, is the electrical wastage and how might RRU prevent the electrical wastage. Immense consumptions of electricity results in the high emission of greenhouse gases and also leads to high electrical bills. Koomey, J.G., (2008) in his research told that the internet services consume more electricity. RRU on its campus not only provides computer lab for the students to access but also gives free RRU internet Wi-Fi which in turns consumes a lot of electricity.
