Was Truman Show Trapped In A Fake Reality Or Fake?

Improved Essays
Truman show is about a men that is trapped in a fake reality and when he finds out he tries to escape the fake reality. If I was in that situation I would, first be shock and unhappy because my whole life was fake and my life was plan out, also if I had friends in there I would be even more sad because they were planned to be my friend and not really my friends. If I was in a Reality fake for my whole life and I had the option to get out I would probably try and get out because if I would stay in there I would not change has a person and I wouldn’t just want to stay in one town my whole life, I want to explore and experience more thing like going to china and seeing the great wall of china. Also I wasn’t really love and all the people in there

The world Laura and Howie experienced was not worth exploring mainly because of the fact that they went through a lot and they were not very social and basically had no social skills so to put them out in the real world were the person standing next to you may not care about you. And the fact of they were kidnapped and sad to say but what everything they endured could be said as the real world but they would have not go through that if they stayed at the camp. The world that Laura and Howie experienced was not worth exploring due to the fact of Laura and Howie facing intimidating people for example when they met Pardoe who was assaulting Laura. So what this means is if the children stayed back in the camp the odds of them meeting intimidating people would have been slimmer due to the fact that there would be more supervision. Now the other side might argue that at some point in their lives they would have to put up with difficult people.…

Despite the plot which has been done before (most notably on television series "The Twilight Zone" and "The Prisoner"), "The Truman Show" manages to surprise and delight. The clever screenplay by "Gattaca" scripter Andrew Niccol plays up on the inherent phoniness of televised drama with a very sly and subversive sense of humor. The script is also engaging in its emotional dynamic of Truman having his world unraveled around him, and choosing between risking his own life for freedom, or to stay content in the world's most comfortable prison. However, unlike the bloated "Godzilla", "The Truman Show" ends too quickly without giving a chance to thoroughly explore the…

Americans wanted to own the same expensive objects and do the same things as their friends or neighbors because they were worried about seeming less important socially than they were (Cambridge dictionary) and shows like, “The Truman show,” re-enforced that feeling; fictional viewers of, “The Truman show,” wanted to live a stable life the way Truman does, own the same house, eat the same food, have the same wife. The man in a bathtub that appears on several occasions throughout the film is the best example of a, “hooked audience,” as he is completely drawn into the show; the media has absolute control over him. Every move and emotion that Truman made and experienced in the show in some way or another translated straight into the bathtub man’s beahviour. He lived through Truman’s life as he slept and ate at the same time the protagonist did. “The media are powerful tools,” that are, “able to influence consumers’ sentiments and aspirations,” and that is exactly what Weir was trying to portray by filming the fictional viewers’ reaction to the show (Vanessaairie).…
