Was The New Deal Good Or Bad Essay

The New Deal was a group of programs made to try to fix the Great Depression (Roosevelt). Some of the programs were the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC), the Agriculture Adjustment Administration (AAA), and more. Many of the programs were eventually declared unconstitutional, so the New Deal changed a lot. The New Deal, though so long ago, is still debated about. It worked a little, but not enough to be considered successful. It failed because it discriminated, didn’t help enough, and didn’t bring the employment rate down to how it was in the beginning. The New Deal didn’t really help. A lot of the New Deal programs ended up being declared unconstitutional. When one of the programs was passed, it made the people it wasn’t helping have a hard time. It tried employing people, but a whole lot of people still didn’t get jobs, and couldn’t feed their families if they had families (Smiley). He ended up causing chaos with some of his bills until they were declared unconstitutional. Those few happy people could have been farmers before the AAA was declared unconstitutional, or they could’ve been people who already payed off their house (Dobbin). Those who payed off their houses wouldn’t have to worry about shelter, but only food and water.
The New Deal ended up failing because of discrimination, employment rates, and not helping people enough, or helping in the wrong way. The Great Depression was a hard time for the majority of people because they lost a lot of money. The New Deal tried hard to help in fixing it. This is a significant topic and it is still argued because it’s a big thing in history and most likely, nobody wants the Great Depression to come
