Although the New Deal helped America a lot it was not a total success, because it didn’t help everybody that needed help. But still, to the best of their abilities, Roosevelt and Congress were able to help a vast majority of the American public. Without the New Deal, children would've come to school and not have had a hot meal waiting for them. They would've had to wonder when they would be able to eat next time. Also, there would be a huge number of people unemployed which would’ve led to a country-wide starvation because the families wouldn’t have been able to provide for themselves.
