I believe that the Civil War was inevitable. This long and violent war was purely caused by conflicting opinions on slavery. The North thought that slavery should be abolished, and the South thought that slavery was fine. Firstly, to think about the question logically, the Civil War was in fact inevitable simply because it already happened. Second, the fact that there were so many compromises and acts, yet no one’s opinions had changed, proves right there that the Civil War was unavoidable. The Civil War was impossible to avoid because we are in the future, and we know all the details of how it happened. Everyone was stuck in his or her own ways at the time, and we now know that it was physically impossible for either side
