The support of the common people would have been for have been for a republic where they had more of a voice. Shakespeare would have made fight against a ruler with complete power over all people. America was founded by people who were sick of being ruled by an unfair government so they fought it so he would need to make Caesar a character that was for giving power to the people. He would also have to show how the lives lost weren’t pointless live the men who died had die for their freedom. Shakespeare would have had to make it clear if you died trying to protect your freedom instead of entering into a social contracts for protection your life and the loss of it was not pointless. Cassius would not have looked over the battle field morning the lost of men and his friend.
Shakespeare also tries to show us how the use of violence to fix a problem can only lead to more violence and there will be no progress made so it is not justified. This is him writing to the English audience of the time. In the US and approach of violence is what we think is the best way to solve a problem and if their progress then it is justified. Shakespeare is showing the audience that with the story of Julius Caesar that violence is never the correct solution to a problem.
