Was Julius Caesar A Good Reformer?

Julius Caesar was a dictator that was in power in Ancient Rome that accomplished many great things. The problem was many of the things he did were for his own good and to give him glory. Cesar could’ve also been a great reformer because he got his soldiers to support him. The only thing is that he only got them to support him so they would do what he told them to and he could do whatever he wanted and they would go along with it. Thus, this makes Caesar a dictator and not a reformer. Julius Caesar was an ambitious dictator that whatever he wanted and didn’t listen to what others had to say to him. Caesar only did things for his own good and not for the good of Rome and the Roman people. Caesar also started a civil war for the selfish reason of destroying the republic because of personal reasons. For one, he won the support and trust of his soldiers due to his leadership and amazing military strategies. He also restored many of the cities that were destroyed by the republic, which helped many of the poor Romans. Caesar also granted citizenship to people from foreign countries that came to Rome. These reasons would make sense to why some believe Julius Caesar was a reformer. While there are reasons to support that Caesar was a reformer, there are many more that back up his dictator like behavior. For example, one of the main reasons he won the support of his soldiers was so that they would do whatever he said while away from Rome. He also restored cities that were destroyed so that the people that lose their home would love him.
