Was It Worth It Mac?
Apple products are known the world around, but do they really deserve the popularity and recognition they receive? Apple was founded by Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak in 1977 and went public in 1980 (Finkle, and Mallin). Soon after opening the company released some wonderful new products. In 1977 the Apple II was introduced and was the first of the PCs, in 1991 they set the standard for laptops and in 2007 they released the world changing iPhone (Cusumano). Being a front runner in the technology field Apple has to stay ahead of the competition. Every year apple releases new products and updates to their line of gadgets. This release is met with multitudes of Apple enthusiast and consumers lined up to get in the Apple store

Richard Weber who is an MBA and CLU says that when he started using his new mac he found the OS “sublimely good” because the programs were created to run specifically on that operating system. OSX does not use any other programs than what was made for it, however Macs do have the capability of running a second OS such as Windows, however this situation is not reversible in the sense that Windows user do not have access to the Apples OS (Weber). With this capability Mac owners can use Windows programs such as Microsoft Office Word, Power Point, and many more if they prefer or they can use the Mac version which with some practice anyone can learn. Microsoft Office for Mac is sold for $139.95 on the Apple site, the suite includes Word, Excel, and Power Point (Apple Inc.). Apple also provides Apple Paper and Keynote as supplements for the Word and PowerPoint aspect of Microsoft Office, they work well but don’t have all the bells and whistles that the Microsoft Suite has. Other than the business side of the programs Apple also offers many entertainment and messaging software. ITunes is the Apple place to go for all entertainment needs such as music, movies, and televisions shows. ITunes is on all Apple products, iTunes helps organize and keep entertainment in one place, it also gives access to the Apple iTunes store where users can buy new songs and films (Apple Inc.). This would be a great help to anyone with a love for quick, easy entertainment. Messaging is a large part of life in the modern world of today, Apple supplies their users with multiple ways to interact with others. One messaging tool Apple has is iMessage, iMessage has been around since 2011 and is free to anyone that has an Apple product (Betts). Instant messages are great, however sometimes a face to face conversation is the best way to communicate. Apple’s FaceTime makes this possible for anyone with an Apple
