Charlie Wilson’s War was very interesting. The idea that our government runs covert ops in such a way that even those voting on the increased budget have no idea what they are voting for is worrisome. Pumping all this money into wars that the public has no idea that we are involved in until suddenly it is clear. There is an issue with the fact that it was somehow justified as both a war of helping someone that was only being attacked because of the United States, and that we only helped because we didn’t want them to get to the oil we like. An area was so easily ravaged by the actions of one man to sway one other member of a committee, in war, with millions of dollars being spent.
