Was Barack Obama An Effective Leader?

What qualifies a person to become president? A person does not become president because they go to Harvard or because they become a senator of one of the fifty states. It has often been said that leaders are born, not made. A person does not become President just because of what they are able to accomplish but also who they are. Although there are thousands of people who have stepped out to try their shot at becoming President there are only forty-five men in the history of our country who have gone all the way to the white house to become our leader. The multicultural leader I have chosen is Barack Obama. I am going to talk about who Obama is, why he was an effective leader, what his leadership style was, and how he has been able to motivate and relate to many people. Every president that has made their way through the white house has had to carry the weight of our country on their shoulders. A daunting task for anyone that steps forward to attempt to convince the people that they would be the best leader. In 2008 Barack Obama stepped out to invite America to believe in him, and the leadership that he thought was best for our country, and we elected him to be our president. Douglas MacArthur, a chief of staff of the United States Army once said this “A true leader has the confidence to stand alone, the courage to make tough decisions, and the compassion to listen to the needs of others. He does not set out to be a leader, but becomes one by the equality of his actions and the integrity of his
