Andrew Jackson former president of 1829-1837 acted like a king, one way he acted this way was the Indian Removal Act. In 1823 the Indians were challenged in court by Jackson for the land they were living on. The court came to the conclusion that the Indians could not own the title for the land; but they did in fact have the right to occupancy because they discovered the land.
