In the Ancient Egypt times, the Pharaoh was the head of the government and religion, but the Pharaoh could not run the government and religion on his own, so he had people that worked for him to do stuff he had no time to do, and these people were below him in the social classes. Religion and government brought order to society through the construction of temples, the creation of laws, taxation, the organization of labour, trade with neighbours and the defence of the country's interests.
