Many of these nations once taken over encouraged and welcomed him, take Egypt for example, “Alex was welcomed more as a savior than an invader-enthroned as king - founded the Egyptian city of Alexandria and named 19 other cities after himself.” (Alexander the Great, Slide 6.). Alexander was viewed a hero by those he conquered, even if he was taken over their territory. He allowed for nations to continue their own beliefs and practices, and even Alex looked into and learned about the cultures he conquered. When you take a look into Alexander’s history on the battlefield, he never lost a fight to anybody. He’s tactics were so great that according to research, “Alexander the Great’s military tactics and strategies are still studied in military academies today.”(Barksdale. Par 3.). This is pretty astounding considering that modern day war is completely different than it was during Alexander’s time.
