According to Angela Duckworth in her new book, in order to be successful one does not need a high IQ but instead grit. She describes grit as having, stamina, perseverance, passion, and sticking with your future to make it a reality. No longer is competition like a sprint, it is becoming more of a marathon. People with grit were shown to be more successful in the long run compared to be people with a high intelligence. Many people start from the bottom having nothing but grit to get themselves to the top. A person who has grit is Warren Buffet, the second richest man in the world. Warren wasn’t your typical kid. He liked money and he liked earning it. When he was only 11 years old he purchased his first stock, and worked in his family grocery store. His dad owned a stock brokerage company and Warren would go and listen to how they made money. When he was a teenager he took a couple of jobs like, washing cars and delivering newspapers.
