Based on the presumption that the team will be a summer league ball club, and a member of a conference like the Coastal Plain League, the “Cape Fear Shiners” would be located in the middle of two current eastern conference members, the Holly Springs Salamanders and the Fayetteville Swampdogs. This optimal location makes for the perfect stop, here at Jim Perry Stadium for interleague play. Having a team in this competitive league could be the first step to potentially bringing a minor league team to one of the fastest growing counties in the state.…

With dozens of professional sports stadiums built in the past decade, and many more on the way, it is time to put a halt to public-funded stadiums due to their lack of economic productivity. This is what Raymond Keating argues in his 1997 editorial ‘We Wuz Robbed! The Subsidized Stadium Scam.’ He believes that since taxpayers continue to lose more and more money from taxes and subsidies each year, Congress should eliminate tax breaks for financing stadium construction.…

As Shasta trains out of the Arenex in Queens Park, New Westminster, which is used for several recreational sports put on by the City of New Westminster, we must set up and pack up our equipment for every training. Kezar was designed by Willis Polk & Company and built in 1925 for $300,000. It was a place where the cold bite of the Pacific Ocean would cut right through you, chilling you to the bones.…

Another industry that would benefit from the stadium is the hotel industry, due to the large amount of tourist visiting Melbourne to watch baseball games. As a result of the heavy influx of tourist, new stores would be open to sell products to tourists, such as sport memorabilia.…
