Over the summer there was a musical festival that happens at PNC Art Center in Holmdel, New Jersey. The genre of music bands play at Warped Tour is mainly pop punk and alternative with a little bit of screamo. If you attend Warped Tour you will notice the audience to be a mix of teenagers and college students. Bands used instruments such as the guitar, bass, and drums. The music was very upbeat and fast paced which the crowd reacted to in a violent manner. If you attend Warped Tour you will notice that people will start to push each other around in a violent manner to the beat of the song being played. The typical number of people attending Warped Tour is roughly 1,200. This year a band named “Less than Jake,” stole the show with their unique sound and style. “Less than Jake,” used instruments such as the saxophone, trumpet, keyboard, guitar, bass, and drums. Even though “Like Pacific,” is fairly new it was my favorite set at Warped Tour this year. The crowd that attended their set was roughly 15 people, which is a low number for a set at Warped Tour. “Like Pacific,” used the typical rock instruments during their set, which is guitar, bass, and drums. Even though there was only approximately 15 people in their crowd they still put on a great performance and got their crowd involved as well. Throughout their set the singer from “Like Pacific,” would come down to the crowd and hand random fans the microphone to sing along with the song they were performing. After hearing them for the first time anyone who is a fan of the rock genre will fall in love with this young talented band. They were energetic and charismatic during their set 10 out of 10 would defiantly love to see them play live again and this years Warped

The beginning of his career started as few others do. He didn't actually want to perform and play his songs for people, but rather have other people sing his songs. "Yet after writing his first few songs, including "The Song that Jane Likes" and "Recently", he began to consider starting his own band" (wikipedia.com). There was only one answer to this Matthews explains. "I didn't really have a vision, or a plan," says Matthews, acknowledging that some of his musical sensibility came from spending time in so many different places as a child.…

The members constituting the first combo were bassist David Schroeder, drummer Zach Benator, guitarist Bob Tarkington, tenor saxophonist Chris Suarez, and vocalist Oriana Wisdom. The members of the second combo were bassist David Schroeder (once again), drummer Jordan Holiman, guitarists Daniel Melton and Alex Hassell, and alto saxophonists Stephen May and Rodney Allen. Eight albums in and we’ve gone from a quiet little bar in anytown USA, steeped in nostalgia and sweetness to something else entirely. It was building from the start and although that only comes through in hindsight and by looking at the trajectory of his career, it doesn’t seem completely shocking that Tom Waits would end up making an album like Swordfishtrombones when he did, in 1983. Rising out of the jazz, blues and pop standard traditions he explored in previous albums, this is a theatrical reconstruction of those genres by way of a junkyard. The album kicks off with the stop motion percussion of “Underground,” setting the stage for this collection of songs made of things that the mainstream has discarded or buried.…

Many people may not appreciate the different ways to experience music, such as a choir or an orchestra. Though they have the same goal to entertain, they couldn’t be any more different from each other and other types as well. Experiencing a concert live is breath taking because it comes to realization how much work the artist has put into the music and choreography. Listening to the album is based off of visuals in your head as of what is going on in the song, or how the story is being played out. The concert is about giving the fans a show, but artist also let fans join in on the songs while they sing it just to see how many people actually listen to the music that they have been putting out. You could anticipate similarities and differences when comparing an album and a concert, but would you really know how much would change or what would sound different in an arena compared to your headphones, I don’t think many could. Going in to a concert your heart is racing from anticipation and your nerves are very high because you’re not quite sure what to expect.…
