On 05/08/16 at 5:20pm, I was dispatched to 714 Northview Ave on a dog at large, patrol only. As I was patrolling the area I was stopped by complainant that lived at 563 N. Dawson. The complainant stated that the Chihuahua in front of his house does not belong to him. I tried to capture the Chihuahua. The complainant allowed the Chihuahua to enter his enclosed front porch, where I was able to place a leash on the dog and put it in the van. As I was leaving the area, dog owner Brittney Warfield stopped me and described the dog I had in my possession. Ms. Warfield was unable to show proof of dog license. I issued Ms. Warfield violations for failure to license and failure to control and redeemed the dog to her.
